Closes#32397
This PR fixes an issue when pasting text with the `editor::Paste`
command that was copied with `vim::Yank`'s linewise selection.
The change stops setting the `is_entire_line` setting when copying from
with vim linewise selections (<kbd>⇧v</kbd>) and motions (i.e.
<kbd>y2j</kbd>).
This flag is used when cutting/copying text without being selected (so,
place a cursor on line without selecting anything, and press
<kbd>⌘X</kbd>). When cutting/copying text in this manner, [the editor
pastes the text above the
cursor](https://github.com/afgomez/zed/blob/36941253ee086af3dc7d2b2729a68bebe387d650/crates/editor/src/editor.rs#L11936-L11947).
However, this behaviour is not needed when cutting/copying with vim
motions.
Pasting with vim operations is not affected by this change. [They are
handled
elsewhere](https://github.com/afgomez/zed/blob/36941253ee086af3dc7d2b2729a68bebe387d650/crates/vim/src/normal/paste.rs)
and they don't consider the `is_entire_line` flag at all.
Note for maintainers: I'm not familiar with this codebase 🙃. This change
fixes the issue. I don't see anything breaking... but let me know if
it's not the case and a more thorough change is needed.
**Before:**
The text is copied above the first line, before the cursor.

**After:**
The text is copied at the cursor location:

Release Notes:
- Fixed an issue when pasting text that was yanked with vim's linewise
selections.
In #32656 I generalized the argument to change selections to allow
controling both the scroll and the nav history (and the completion
trigger).
To avoid conflicting with ongoing debugger cherry-picks I left the
argument as an `impl Into<>`, but I think it's clearer to make callers
specify what they want here.
I converted a lot of `None` arguments to `SelectionEffects::no_scroll()`
to be exactly compatible; but I think many people used none as an "i
don't care" value in which case Default::default() might be more
appropraite

Closes#31372
Release Notes:
- Debugger Beta: added basic support for highlighting in the console
based on ANSI escape codes.
Before this change we didn't explicitly handle vim's exclusive-linewise
edgecase
(https://neovim.io/doc/user/motion.html#exclusive).
Instead we had hard-coded workarounds in a few places to make our tests
pass.
The most pernicious of these workarounds was that we represented a
visual line
selection as including the trailing newline (or leading newline for
files that
end with no newline), which other code had to undo to get back to what
the user
indended.

TODO:

- [x] Implement it in the whole app
- [x] Implement it in the debugger
- [x] Glance at the RPC crate, and see if those box future methods can

more complex than just keeping the code as is.

Closes https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/24914 (again)
Release Notes:
- Fixed an issue where multi-line pasted content was auto-indented
incorrectly if copied from the middle of an existing line.
Changes:
- [x] Cursor at the start during yank operations on objects (`yip`,
`yab` etc).
- [x] Refactors this: Trim all leading and trailing whitespace from
inner multiline bracket selection.
- This leaves a nicely indented line when doing `ci{` `vi{d` etc
- [x] Checks for empty selection
- [x] Removed moving cursor to the start in visual bracket operations
This cleans up the previous implementation by providing a simpler check
in `surrounding_markers`, instead of calling a new function in
`expand_object`. No functionality was changed there except for handling
the empty selection and removing some cursor adjustments that should not
have been there after further testing.

Closes#24270
Release Notes:
- Fixed an issue where doing line-wise operations in vim mode on the
last line of a file with no trailing newline would not work properly
There's still a bit more work to do on this, but this PR is compiling
(with warnings) after eliminating the key types. When the tasks below
are complete, this will be the new narrative for GPUI:
- `Entity<T>` - This replaces `View<T>`/`Model<T>`. It represents a unit
of state, and if `T` implements `Render`, then `Entity<T>` implements
`Element`.
- `&mut App` This replaces `AppContext` and represents the app.
- `&mut Context<T>` This replaces `ModelContext` and derefs to `App`. It
is provided by the framework when updating an entity.
- `&mut Window` Broken out of `&mut WindowContext` which no longer
exists. Every method that once took `&mut WindowContext` now takes `&mut
Window, &mut App` and every method that took `&mut ViewContext<T>` now
takes `&mut Window, &mut Context<T>`
Not pictured here are the two other failed attempts. It's been quite a
month!
Tasks:
- [x] Remove `View`, `ViewContext`, `WindowContext` and thread through
`Window`
- [x] [@cole-miller @mikayla-maki] Redraw window when entities change
- [x] [@cole-miller @mikayla-maki] Get examples and Zed running
- [x] [@cole-miller @mikayla-maki] Fix Zed rendering
- [x] [@mikayla-maki] Fix todo! macros and comments
- [x] Fix a bug where the editor would not be redrawn because of view
caching
- [x] remove publicness window.notify() and replace with
`AppContext::notify`
- [x] remove `observe_new_window_models`, replace with
`observe_new_models` with an optional window
- [x] Fix a bug where the project panel would not be redrawn because of
the wrong refresh() call being used
- [x] Fix the tests
- [x] Fix warnings by eliminating `Window` params or using `_`
- [x] Fix conflicts
- [x] Simplify generic code where possible
- [x] Rename types
- [ ] Update docs
### issues post merge
- [x] Issues switching between normal and insert mode
- [x] Assistant re-rendering failure

Closes#13579
A major painpoint in the Vim crate has been life-cycle management. We
used to have one global Vim instance that tried to track per-editor
state; this led to a number of subtle issues (e.g. #13579, the mode
indicator being global, and quick toggling between windows letting vim
mode's notion of the active editor get out of sync).
This PR changes the internal structure of the code so that there is now
one `Vim` instance per `Editor` (stored as an `Addon`); and the global
stuff is separated out. This fixes the above problems, and tidies up a
bunch of the mess in the codebase.
Release Notes:
* vim: Fixed accidental visual mode in project search and go to
references
([#13579](https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/13579)).
Release Notes:
- vim: Added a setting to control default clipboard behaviour. `{"vim":
{"use_system_clipboard": "never"}}` disables writing to the clipboard.
`"on_yank"` writes to the system clipboard only on yank, and `"always"`
preserves the current behavior. ([#4390
](https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/4390))
