Piotr OsiewiczandJoão 08b3c03241 project: Allow running multiple instances of a single language server within a single worktree (#23473)
This PR introduces a new entity called Project Tree which is responsible
for finding subprojects within a worktree;
a subproject is a language-specific subset of a worktree which should be
accurately tracked on the language server side. We'll have an ability to
set multiple disjoint workspaceFolders on language server side OR spawn
multiple instances of a single language server (which will be the case
with e.g. Python language servers, as they need to interact with
multiple disjoint virtual environments).
Project Tree assumes that projects of the same LspAdapter kind cannot
overlap. Additionally project nesting is not allowed within the scope of
a single LspAdapter.

Closes https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/5108
Re-lands #22182 which I had to revert due to merging it into todays
Preview.

Release Notes:

- Language servers now track their working directory more accurately.

Marshall Bowers 9a7f1d1de4 Add assistant_context_editor crate (#23429)
This PR adds a new `assistant_context_editor` crate.

This will ultimately house the `ContextEditor` so that it can be
consumed by both `assistant` and `assistant2`.

For the purposes of this PR, we just introduce the crate and move some
supporting constructs to it, such as the `ContextStore`.

919803a4f4 Require accepting ToS when enabling zeta (#23255)
Note: Design hasn't been reviewed yet, but the logic is done

When the user switches the inline completion provider to `zed`, we'll
show a modal prompting them to accept terms if they haven't done so:

https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/3fc6d368-c00a-4dcb-9484-fbbbb5eb859e

If they dismiss the modal, they'll be able to get to it again from the
inline completion button:

https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/cf842778-5538-4e06-9ed8-21579981cc47

This also stops zeta sending requests that will fail immediately when
ToS are not accepted.

Andrew Borg (Kashin) 2ef4883937 terminal: Drain task output on completion (#23085)

Marshall Bowers e215ca1d99 Dedupe AssistantSettings (#23190)
This PR dedupes the `AssistantSettings` so we can use the same settings
for both Assistant1 and Assistant2.

We originally forked them so we could change the Assistant2 settings
freely, but given our rollout strategy for the new Assistant, I don't
think that makes sense.

This also fixes the issue where the JSON language server would show a
"Matches multiple schemas when only one must validate" warning in
`settings.json`.

Closes #23171.

298b9df589 Switch to a single GPU context in Blade (#20853)
Closes #17005

Release Notes:

- Improved GPU context management: share a single context with multiple
surfaces.

### High Level

Blade got a proper support for Surface objects in
https://github.com/kvark/blade/pull/203.
That was mainly motivated by Zed needing to draw multiple windows. With
the Surface API, Zed is now able to have the GPU context tied to the
"Platform" instead of "Window". Practically speaking, this means:
  - architecture more sound
  - faster to open/close windows
  - less surprises, more robust

### Concerns

1. Zed has been using a temporary workaround for the platform bug on
some Intel+Nvidia machines that makes us unable to present -
https://github.com/kvark/blade/pull/144 . This workaround is no longer
available with the new architecture. I'm looking for ideas on how to
approach this better.
- we are now picking up the change in
https://github.com/kvark/blade/pull/210, which allows forcing a specific
Device ID. This should allow Zed users to work around the issue. We
could help them to automate it, too.
2. ~~Metal-rs dependency is switched to
https://github.com/kvark/metal-rs/tree/blade, since upstream isn't
responsive in merging changes that are required for Blade. Hopefully,
temporary.~~
- ~~we can also hack around it by just transmuting the texture
references, since we know those are unchanged in the branch. That would
allow Blade to use it's own version of Metal, temporarily, if switching
metal-rs in the workspace is a concern.~~
- merged my metal-rs changes and updated Zed to use the upstream github
reference

a2115e7242 Restructure git diff state management to allow viewing buffers with different diff bases (#21258)
This is a pure refactor of our Git diff state management. Buffers are no
longer are associated with one single diff (the unstaged changes).
Instead, there is an explicit project API for retrieving a buffer's
unstaged changes, and the `Editor` view layer is responsible for
choosing what diff to associate with a buffer.

The reason for this change is that we'll soon want to add multiple "git
diff views" to Zed, one of which will show the *uncommitted* changes for
a buffer. But that view will need to co-exist with other views of the
same buffer, which may want to show the unstaged changes.

### Todo

* [x] Get git gutter and git hunks working with new structure
* [x] Update editor tests to use new APIs
* [x] Update buffer tests
* [x] Restructure remoting/collab protocol
* [x] Update assertions about staged text in
`random_project_collaboration_tests`
* [x] Move buffer tests for git diff management to a new spot, using the
new APIs

#### What's Changed

- desktop/activation-token: Add helper for retriving the token from a
`gtk::Widget` or a `WlSurface`
- desktop/secret: Close the socket after done reading
-   desktop/input-capture: Fix barrier-id type
- desktop: Use a Pid alias all over the codebase
-   desktop/notification: Support v2 of the interface
- Introduce backend implementation support, allowing to write a portal
implementation in pure Rust. Currently, we don't support Session based
portals. The backend feature is considered experimental as we might
possibly introduce API breaking changes in the future but it should be
good enough for getting started. Examples of how a portal can be
implemented can be found in

张小白 cff9ae0bbc Better absolute path handling (#19727)
Closes #19866

This PR supersedes #19228, as #19228 encountered too many merge
conflicts.

After some exploration, I found that for paths with the `\\?\` prefix,
we can safely remove it and consistently use the clean paths in all
cases. Previously, in #19228, I thought we would still need the `\\?\`
prefix for IO operations to handle long paths better. However, this
turns out to be unnecessary because Rust automatically manages this for
us when calling IO-related APIs. For details, refer to Rust's internal
function
[`get_long_path`](https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/blob/017ae1b21f7be6dcdcfc95631e54bde806653a8a/library/std/src/sys/path/windows.rs#L225-L233).

Therefore, we can always store and use paths without the `\\?\` prefix.

This PR introduces a `SanitizedPath` structure, which represents a path
stripped of the `\\?\` prefix. To prevent untrimmed paths from being
mistakenly passed into `Worktree`, the type of `Worktree`’s `abs_path`
member variable has been changed to `SanitizedPath`.

Additionally, this PR reverts the changes of #15856 and #18726. After
testing, it appears that the issues those PRs addressed can be resolved
by this PR.

### Existing Issue
To keep the scope of modifications manageable, `Worktree::abs_path` has
retained its current signature as `fn abs_path(&self) -> Arc<Path>`,
rather than returning a `SanitizedPath`. Updating the method to return
`SanitizedPath`—which may better resolve path inconsistencies—would
likely introduce extensive changes similar to those in #19228.

Currently, the limitation is as follows:

```rust
let abs_path: &Arc<Path> = snapshot.abs_path();
let some_non_trimmed_path = Path::new("\\\\?\\C:\\Users\\user\\Desktop\\project");
// The caller performs some actions here:
some_non_trimmed_path.strip_prefix(abs_path);  // This fails
some_non_trimmed_path.starts_with(abs_path);   // This fails too
```

The final two lines will fail because `snapshot.abs_path()` returns a
clean path without the `\\?\` prefix. I have identified two relevant
instances that may face this issue:
-
[lsp_store.rs#L3578](https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/blob/0173479d18e2526c1f9c8b25ac94ec66b992a2b2/crates/project/src/lsp_store.rs#L3578)
-
[worktree.rs#L4338](https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/blob/0173479d18e2526c1f9c8b25ac94ec66b992a2b2/crates/worktree/src/worktree.rs#L4338)

Switching `Worktree::abs_path` to return `SanitizedPath` would resolve
these issues but would also lead to many code changes.

Any suggestions or feedback on this approach are very welcome.
