Matin Aniss 54afa6f69f Bump image crate (#13397)
Bumping the image crate for better support of image formats.

The latest version does not have a `BGRA` type it only has `RGBA` it
doesn't really matter as the size is the same but the type name is a
little confusing as we need it as `BGRA`. Also there is no `into_bgra8`
but we can use `into_rgba8` but then it must be converted before
creating the `ImageData`.

Mikayla Maki 5a149b970c Make tests less noisy (#12463)
When running the tests for linux, I found a lot of benign errors getting
logged. This PR cuts down some of the noise from unnecessary workspace
serialization and SVG renders

Nathan SoboandAntonio Scandurra 39fb1d567d Incorporate ElementId as part of the Element::id trait method and expose GlobalId (#11101)
We're planning to associate "selection sources" with global element ids
to allow arbitrary UI text to be selected in GPUI. Previously, global
ids were not exposed outside the framework and we entangled management
of the element id stack with element state access. This was more
acceptable when element state was the only place we used global element
ids, but now that we're planning to use them more places, it makes sense
to deal with element identity as a first-class part of the element
system. We now ensure that the stack of element ids which forms the
current global element id is correctly managed in every phase of element
layout and paint and make the global id available to each element
method. In a subsequent PR, we'll use the global element id as part of
implementing arbitrary selection for UI text.

Mikayla Maki 55c897d993 Revert dependency updates in #9836 (#10089)
Due to: https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/9985 and an
abundance of caution, I'm reverting the image and svg rendering updates
for now until we can debug the issue. cc: @niklaswimmer

Matthias GrandlandMikayla f9becbd3d1 gpui: Add SVG rendering to img element and generic asset cache (#9931)
This is a follow up to #9436 . It has a cleaner API and generalized the
image_cache to be a generic asset cache, that all GPUI elements can make
use off. The changes have been discussed with @mikayla-maki on Discord.

Updated version of #9741 with fixes for the problems raised in #9774. I
only verified that the images no longer look blueish on Linux, because I
don't have a Mac.

Piotr Osiewicz a7047f67fb chore: Revert "gpui: update dependencies" (#9774)
Reverts zed-industries/zed#9741

/cc @niklaswimmer it looks like that PR change broke our rendering of
avatars (as @bennetbo found out) - they have a blue-ish tint now, which
I suppose might have to do with change between BGRA and RGBA. I'm gonna
revert it for now, let's reopen it though.

Niklas Wimmer 6a22c8a298 gpui: Update image dependency
The latest update to resvg bumped some transitive dependencies
which lead to duplicates. The update to the image dependency
unifies most of their versions again.

Most notably, gif and kurbo are still duplicated, which is best fixed
downstream however.

Piotr Osiewicz 8fbc88b708 Load embedded fonts directly from .rdata instead of cloning (#6932)
The fonts we embed in Zed binary (Zed Sans & Zed Mono) weigh about 30Mb in total and we are cloning them several times during startup and loading of embedded assets (once explicitly in Zed and then under the hood in font-kit). Moreover, after loading we have at least 2 copies of each font in our program; one in .rdata and the other on the heap for use by font-kit.
This commit does away with that distinction (we're no longer allocating the font data) and slightly relaxes the interface of `TextSystem::add_fonts` by expecting one to pass `Cow<[u8]>` instead of `Arc<Vec<u8>>`. Additionally, `AssetSource::get` now returns `Cow<'static, [u8]>` instead of `Cow<'self, [u8]>`; all existing implementations conform with that change.

Note that this optimization takes effect only in Release builds, as the library we use for asset embedding - rust-embed - embeds the assets only in Release mode and in Dev builds it simply loads data from disk. Thus it returns `Cow<[u8]>` in it's interface. Therefore, we still copy that memory around in Dev builds, but that's not really an issue.
This patch makes no assumptions about the build profile we're running under, that's just an intrinsic property of rust-embed.

Tl;dr: this should shave off about 30Mb of memory usage and a fair chunk (~30ms) of startup time.
