EngineCore (new app/coreengine.{h,cpp}) owns every engine-safe part of
the old Core singleton: CoreParams, lifecycle of the engine managers,
UndoStack, tool/snapping/timecode state, locale, autorecovery, recent
projects, footage filters, clipboard, project registry, type
declarations, and the proxy toggle. UI dependencies are inverted
through hooks instead: status-bar/cache-full signals and std::function
handlers for image-sequence confirmation, footage relink, OTIO import,
project save/close and layout load (same pattern as
Config::ErrorHandler).
Core (app/) now derives from EngineCore and keeps only UI behavior:
the main window, dialogs, panel heuristics, import/export flows and
project lifecycle presentation. Its public API is unchanged (all
inherited), and Core::instance() covariantly static_casts the engine
singleton. The render worker constructs EngineCore directly, making it
the first binary that no longer needs the UI side of Core.
~25 engine call sites move from core.h to coreengine.h; a dozen more
drop a vestigial core.h include (gaining direct includes for symbols
they were borrowing transitively). Full gtest suite green (1986 tests,
0 failures).
* .arg() doesn't handle plurals, replace %1 with %n and pass number to tr(), but only if there is an accompanying word for that we want singular/plural translations and only for whole numbers.
* Qt's translation methods only accept integers and we don't know what grammatical number form would be correct for floating-point numbers in different languages anyway.
* Add optional 2nd argument to SliderBase::SetFormat() to activate deferred plural handling:
SetFormat(QT_TRANSLATE_N_NOOP("olive::SliderBase", "%n unit(s)"), true)
* Generate en_US.ts with lupdate's -pluralonly option. Only source strings that require plural handling need to be translated (as long as the source language is American English).
Project items are now represented directly in nodes opening up more versatility and possibilities. This is the first iteration of this and will be buggy. Need to test thoroughly.
The macro defined namespaces confused the hell out of lupdate and more or less broke translations permanently. Looks like the only way we can do it is to have a hardcoded namespace, which goes against my instinct, but honestly how likely is it that we'll change the namespace anyway (I guess forks might want to do it, but that's their problem ;) )
- Abstracts all OpenGL functionality including UI objects
- Cleans up several rendering codepaths
- Improves threading functionality
- Removes old code and problematic functions
Image streams were initially separated from video streams, but they're now
joined with a parameter defining if they're a still image, image sequence,
or regular video. The image sequence import process has also improved so
that if images from the same sequence are imported too, they'll either be
ignored or the user won't be asked again for those if they should be an
image sequence (fixes#1193). Also shifts decoder "probe" process to return
an item, useful if the decoder returns a non-footage item.
Made various changes and fixes to the task system:
- Tasks are built around QtConcurrent rather than QThread. Reduces
code complexity significantly.
- Task error reporting is now streamlined in both TaskManager and
TaskDialog.
- Moved ProjectImport/Save/LoadManager to the app/task folder
