WIP: Manually rollback transactions to avoid spurious savepoint failure

TODO:
- Avoid unwrapping transaction after f(tx)
- Remove duplication between `transaction` and `room_transaction`
- Introduce random delay before and after committing a transaction
- Run lots of randomized tests
- Investigate diverging diagnostic summaries
