Mike-Solar 7a9e11b729 ci: fix the vcpkg ffmpeg manifest feature and pin
vcpkg resolves the ffmpeg dependency before anything builds and rejects
the manifest because the pinned 8.1.2#3 port has no `png` feature
("ffmpeg@8.1.2#3 does not have required feature png needed by oak"),
so every desktop job died in "Install dependencies (vcpkg manifest)"
and never reached the build or test steps.

PNG decoding in FFmpeg needs zlib (png_decoder_deps=zlib); libpng is
only the encoder backend and this port never enables it. Request
`zlib` instead.

Also point the stale comments/docs at the actual pin: the override is
8.1.2#3 (matching the ffmpeg-next 8.x binding after the 9.0.0 binding
was found broken upstream), not 9.0.1#1.

Mike-Solar 9a2c7e5dde ci: vcpkg everywhere, FFmpeg pinned, openKylin container job
- vcpkg bootstrapped in every job (the Warp runners carry none):
  clone + bootstrap into .cache/vcpkg, VCPKG_ROOT exported.
- vcpkg.json: ffmpeg pinned at 9.0.1#1 via overrides with
  builtin-baseline 771b0a2e pinning the port tree; feature fixes
  (gnutls -> openssl, ffnvcodec -> platform-qualified nvcodec,
  vaapi on Linux, librsvg windows-only).
- Linux and macOS CI/CD jobs also take FFmpeg from the manifest
  (static triplets x64-linux / arm64-osx keep the packaging story);
  the build-ffmpeg.sh steps, FFmpeg caches and the codec dev
  packages leave the workflows — system package managers keep only
  the X11/audio/GL/Vulkan/tooling deps, now documented in
  docs/build.md.
- New openKylin container job (openkylin/openkylin:latest) on x64
  (warp-ubuntu-latest-x64-8x) and ARM64
  (warp-ubuntu-latest-arm64-16x, arm64-linux triplet): openKylin
  package names surveyed against the live image's apt index
  (nasm/zip come from the kylinsoft anything3.0 PPA), clang for
  bindgen, xvfb + lavapipe headless tests with the watchdog and
  retry policy.

Known follow-ups (declared in the commit chain): vcpkg has not run
end-to-end yet, the pkg-config vs pkgconf executable name on
Windows, TLS semantics moving gnutls -> openssl.

Mike-Solar faebc79c31 ci/cd: Windows goes vcpkg manifest + MSVC on the VS 2026 runner
The MinGW path kept fighting the environment (the GitHub image's
MSVC INCLUDE/LIB poison the GNU compiles; ocio-sys' fork then
dragged the MSVC-only headers into g++ and died on vcruntime.h).
The Windows jobs on both workflows now:

- run on warp-windows-2025-vs2026-x64-16x (preinstalled VS 2026)
  with the stable MSVC Rust toolchain;
- install dependencies through vcpkg MANIFEST mode: vcpkg.json at
  the repo root carries FFmpeg with every free codec + hwaccel
  (mirroring build-ffmpeg.sh's configure), pkgconf and librsvg;
  the vcpkg_installed tree plus the binary-cache archives are
  cached on the manifest hash with save-always;
- build OCIO bundled (ocio-sys' vendored sources are what MSVC
  wants — the MSYS2 package was the workaround, not the
  preference), so OCIO_RS_NO_MSVC_INCLUDES is gone;
- ship the vcpkg runtime DLLs next to the binaries in the NSIS
  installer with a static-CRT release build (no vcruntime DLLs),
  replacing the ntldd-based MSYS2 bundling.

FFmpeg version pinning via builtin-baseline is a documented
follow-up: the Configure step logs vcpkg list so the first green
run reports the resolved versions. docs/build.md keeps the MSYS2
flow as the local alternative and points at the CI path.

Mike-Solar 244d5e860f workspace: kebab-case crates, app under crates/oak-app, shared versions
CI / Build & test (Windows) (push) Failing after 7s
All crates take the oak-* kebab-case naming (oak-audio, oak-codec,
oak-common, oak-core, oak-ffmpeg-link, oak-node, oak-otio, oak-plugin,
oak-render, oak-storage, oak-task, oak-timeline, oak-undo), with the
lib identifiers rewritten (oakrender:: -> oak_render::, oakcore_rs:: ->
oak_core::, ...) across all 226 referencing files.

The GUI application moves from the workspace root into
crates/oak-app/: src/, build.rs (paths fixed for the new location) and
tests/ travel with it, the root Cargo.toml becomes workspace-only
([workspace] + workspace.package + profiles), and the app package
inherits the workspace version. The screenshots example becomes a
standalone crate examples/simple_player/ with its own Cargo.toml.

Every crate now inherits the single workspace version
(version.workspace = true), and the workflows' crate paths and the
build docs follow the renames.

Validated with a clean cargo check --workspace.

Mike-Solar 498669509a docs: current bilingual build guide; retire the C++/CMake one
docs/build.md + docs/zh/build.md rewritten for the Rust workspace:
project-built FFmpeg 8.1 (.cargo/config.toml presets FFMPEG_DIR),
vendored static OCIO on Linux/macOS vs MSYS2 dynamic OCIO on Windows
(with the OCIO_INSTALL_DIR/OCIO_RS_LINK env), the Windows GNU toolchain
requirements (MSYS2 Rust, RUSTFLAGS=-C link-args=-lmsvcrt for the
mingw-w64 _assert forwarding, unset INCLUDE/LIB), Linux audio dev
packages and xvfb headless testing, container packaging, and a
troubleshooting section. The macOS-only guides gain a deprecation
pointer. Also correct two stale comments in tooling/install-deps.sh
(FFmpeg is built by tooling/ffmpeg/build-ffmpeg.sh, not by cargo).

Mike-Solar 61da70ecf8 fix(build): launch crash — @rpath/libz.1.dylib had no LC_RPATH
The static FFmpeg's external codec libs pull in -lz, which on this
toolchain resolves to a copy whose install name is @rpath/libz.1.dylib
(zlib-ng-compat); without an LC_RPATH entry all three binaries died in
dyld at startup. The app/cli/worker build scripts now emit
-Wl,-rpath,/usr/lib.

Also: FFMPEG_DIR moves into the committed .cargo/config.toml as a
workspace-relative [env] entry — ffmpeg-sys-next's build script cannot
read .env files, and without it the crate silently linked the shared
Homebrew FFmpeg while oakffmpeg-link emitted the static transitive
flags (mixed linkage). docs/build.md updated.

Mike-Solar c5f1d0d76c refactor(engine): pure cdylib + undo-stack test race fix (M14 R4)
- oakengine is now cdylib-only (no rlib/staticlib consumers anywhere;
  cargo tree verified) — the plugin/external C ABI layer; README and
  docs updated
- cd.yml drops the dylib embedding/re-sign steps (the app no longer
  links it)
- test race root-caused and fixed for good: the global undo stack lock
  is now a re-entrant mutex (parking_lot) shared by every test that
  drives the stack, including the previously unlocked node/render
  families; the render-manager serial-ordering bug (an earlier repro
  test initialized the global manager before the not-initialized test)
  is fixed with a shared SERIAL guard and a manager shutdown
- 5 consecutive parallel runs clean; serial 209/209

Mike-Solar 18ff60f147 feat(engine): clip move, clip effect_input, mandatory static FFmpeg
- oakengine_sequence_move_clip implemented for real (oaktimeline
  TrackMoveBlockCommand; fixes the graph-ownership/gap-anchor/ripple
  trim bugs the stub was hiding); same-track via the frozen C ABI,
  cross-track supported by the module command
- oaknode clip blocks now declare a tex_in texture input and set
  effect_input to it, so timeline clips can host effect chains; facade
  test covers effect insert/remove on a real clip
- oakffmpeg-link: FFMPEG_DIR is now mandatory with a clear panic (a
  Homebrew upgrade left the system ffmpeg .pc pointing at a deleted
  dav1d Cellar path, breaking links); reads a git-ignored workspace
  .env for IDEs that cannot inject env vars (RustRover); links the C++
  stdlib for C++ codec libs (svt-av1)
- oakengine re-exports oaknode so tests share one crate instance;
  it_node uses the direct instance's value type where it calls the
  module FFI (the --workspace dev-dependency feature split builds
  oaknode twice)

Mike-Solar 05e42668cb build(ffmpeg): static GPL FFmpeg 8.0 via project script + FFMPEG_DIR
- tooling/ffmpeg/build-ffmpeg.sh builds release/8.0 static+PIC into
  .cache/ffmpeg: GPL/version3, every free-license external codec lib
  probed via pkg-config (enabled when present), per-OS hardware
  acceleration (VideoToolbox/AudioToolbox, VAAPI/VDPAU/libdrm,
  D3D11VA/DXVA2/MediaFoundation, nvenc when ffnvcodec exists)
- tooling/install-deps.sh installs those libraries on Homebrew / MSYS2
  UCRT64 / Debian-Ubuntu / Fedora / Arch; nothing in the build sudo's
- ffmpeg-next's own build feature is unusable (every crate-version to
  FFmpeg-release pairing is broken upstream: 9.0.0->FF9 AVCodec fields,
  8.1.0->FF8.1 new enum variants, 8.0.0->FF8 FF_PROFILE rename), so
  ffmpeg-next 9 + FFmpeg 8.x headers via FFMPEG_DIR it is
- new links-crate oakffmpeg-link emits the static FFmpeg's transitive
  link flags from its .pc files (cargo only propagates them from links
  crates, and rustc prunes the flags unless the rlib is referenced —
  hence the force_link statics)
- docs/build.md updated for the Rust workspace flow

Mike-Solar 66d761b4b7 R8: finish app/ pure C ABI migration (P3-P9) and make OTIO required
- app/ no longer includes engine C++ headers nor holds engine C++ types:
  engine access goes through the oakengine C ABI plus C++ wrappers
  (oakutil/oaknode.h, oakutil/oakvideo.h) and app-local mirror types
  (tooltypes, trackreferencehandle, timelinecommonapp, keyframetypes,
  subtitleapp, serializedlayoutinfoapp, nodevaluehandle, sliderdisplaytypeapp)
- engine: new C ABI functions for block/track/clip/transition navigation
  and predicates, links, caches, waveform/playback, disk folder,
  sequence_track_list, node_free, footage_is_valid, block_get_track,
  get_brush; loadotio/saveotio ported to the current engine API
- OTIO is now a required dependency: CI and CD build it on every
  platform, FindOpenTimelineIO fixed for OTIO 0.16/0.19 (the old deps
  include requirement silently disabled OTIO everywhere), runtime
  libraries are bundled into packages and copied next to macOS binaries
  (oak_copy_otio_runtime)
- fix ProjectViewModel drag&drop mime read/write size mismatch (segfault)
- unify color label naming (k_olive -> "Oak") in the app-side mirror
- docs: OTIO required, FFmpeg minimum corrected to 6.0 (en/zh)
- gtest suite: 1925 passed, 0 failed

Mike-Solar ae908441c8 packaging: ship the Vulkan backend on all platforms, standard lib layout
- Linux CD builds no longer disable Vulkan: the AppImage, deb, rpm and
  Arch packages now build and ship liboakvulkan (the AppImage deploys
  it via linuxdeploy --library so libvulkan is bundled too, and the
  verify step checks both backend libraries); deb/rpm dependencies gain
  libvulkan1/vulkan-loader; the Arch PKGBUILD gains vulkan-headers
- macOS CD installs vulkan-loader and exports VULKAN_SDK so
  find_package(Vulkan) locates the Homebrew loader (previously the
  Vulkan backend silently never built there)
- ffmpeg_bridge now installs to the standard lib directory with
  /../lib RPATH instead of the non-standard ffmpeg_bridge/bin
  layout (verified: editor, worker, oakgl and oakvulkan all resolve it)
- build guides (EN/ZH) document the macOS Vulkan backend dependencies
  and the VULKAN_SDK variable

  ffmpeg-free-devel and add bzip2-devel.

Mike-Solar 225f8505c2 feat(render): dynamic OpenGL/Vulkan backend split and backend-neutral viewer
- Extract libolive-rendercore static library to minimize backend link boundary.
- Add DynamicRenderer adapter with C ABI (oakgl/oakvulkan shared libs).
- Make OAK_ENABLE_DYNAMIC_RENDER_BACKEND default ON with OpenGL fallback.
- Implement VulkanRenderer prototype (textures, shaders, UBO blit, readback).
- Add backend-neutral viewer readback path (offscreen -> QImage -> QPainter).
- Refactor PluginRenderer to be renderer-agnostic; OFX plugins fall back to CPU
  path on non-OpenGL backends while preserving OpenGL render path.
- Add Renderer::AttachOutputTexture/DetachOutputTexture and C ABI forwards.
- Update docs/zh/render-backend-dynamic-plan.md for Phase 3/4/5.
